13 Pieces That Will Take You from from Work to Happy Hour

Confession: I love a good happy hour. A couple times a week I’m hopping between press events or trying to catch up with a friend after a long work day. It’s very rare that New Yorkers are out of work in time to make the designated “happy hour” window, but we normally head straight from work to dinner or drinks. We don’t have time or really the patience to trek home to change before heading out for the evening. Enter: Outfit Problem #13585 – What pieces can take you from the office to happy hour?  Or even the work week to the weekend? Below are 13 items Team SAK believes are work AND happy hour approved. xo

The Plaid Blazer

An oversized blazer is an essential for the office and you can style it to make it happy hour appropriate too! A fun and funky blazer can easily cross the line from work to happy hour. This whole look could be considered office to happy hour appropriate on casual Friday!

A simple blouse and duster vest are the perfect option for work to happy hour this fall. I’d even say the flare jeans are appropriate if they’re allowed in your office setting or if it’s casual Friday. This combo gives you both a relaxed and professional look.

The Shirt Dress

A little shirt dress is the best option for office to happy hour. It’s professional but relaxed and to add some spice to it belt the dress at your waist. The key to the shirt dress though is making sure it’s not too short or two long. Below are my fave LYD that are the best of both worlds!

A good suede moto jacket is the perfect piece. For the office, drape it over your shoulders for the “fashion editor vibe” and leave it on or take it off for after-work drinks. Opt for a moto with a unique color or even pattern on it.
