Tucked away at Studio 3D downtown, Phoenix Fashion Week’s Shop Garment District Show was a night for the books. The humming of mingling fashionistas filled the air as the smoky-purple ambiance set a glamorous tone for the night

A few months back at the Emerging Designer Announcement, we were introduced to the twelve designers competing in FW’s rigorous 6-month program. The Shop Garment District event was a chance to learn more about each designer’s brand and give a preview of what we can expect come Fashion Week in October.

It was very clear how much each designer had grown in the program before the show even started. Sam Mascaro from Loin Cloth, described the experience as a whirl-wind and one that “has already proved to be helpful in many ways”.

Once the runway show started, the designers continued to impress.

Doux Belle channeled old Hollywood as designer Rachel Wagner’s silk and black lace dresses strutted the runway. Did I mention the matching feather hats and gloves? Definitely on my watch list. Some other personal favorites included Loin Cloth’s wearable line of tanks, each with their trademark pocket prints. Michele Herbert’s stunning attention to detail once again mesmerized onlookers as her white gowns glided the runway. This is one designer I can’t wait to see more of. Simply to die for.

Needless to say, the competition did not disappoint. If these designers were able to impress us this much in a mere two months, then fashion week is bound to be one show you won’t want to miss.
