Today is the day! The day I leave to spend my summer in the beautiful New York City!
Words cannot begin explain my emotions right now- how excited, nervous, anxious, fearful, naive, passionate I feel about embarking on this adventure. As most of you know, the summer between junior year and senior year are deemed as “do or die” in internship land. We students have been drilled since freshman year by professors and peers that we need to “build our resume”, “test out the waters”, “start from the bottom”, etc etc. and this summer is that summer to make it happen.
Despite whatever connotation internships may have, I have had a goal since I entered college and began pursuing fashion that I wanted to be in NYC for summer 2014. Well ladies and gents, I am overjoyed to announce that this little redhead will be a features intern for Redbook magazine!!!
After 40 job cover letters and having NYC as my Plan A and Plan B (all of my applications were for NYC except ONE!) I cannot wait to start my internship!
