My Travel Beauty Must-Haves

The past few months I have been traveling a bit for work and family, and I’m starting to get the hang of living out of a suitcase. I feel like most travel posts, people always talk about only bringing the necessities, or a carry-on, but since I’m normally squeezing in as many outfit shoots as possible, or attending fashion-related events when I travel, I never manage to only bring a carry-on. Even so, I still try to pack efficiently, from my outfits to my skincare products.

Growing up I had really good skin (oh…the good ole’ days) – I didn’t start wearing make-up until high school and barely ever had a blemish. In college, I started getting a lot more breakouts due to stress and diet, but my skincare routine was not that great because I never had much to upkeep or problem solve. I would sometimes wipe my face with a face wipe and call it a day.

As you’ve experienced with me in the past six months, I’ve made a handful of changes in my life, and skincare has been a part of that life transformation. I started caring about my skin and how I took care of it. I want to have great skin like my mom, and I realized that I needed to start that upkeep now in my 20’s. I now do a nightly skin care routine, I religiously apply moisturizer, and I even do the occasional face mask. I have really grown up guys! So now that I have become a full-functioning adult, I don’t want to skimp out on any of that when I travel. I have attempted to buy those cheap plastic containers to put my skin products in, but don’t you agree, it’s always such a hassle.

I was recently introduced to Dermalogica. Dermalogica is focused on delivering healthy skin. Started in 1986, the founder Jane Wurwand, a skin therapist recognized that no product line embraced her belief of skin health, as opposed to “beauty”.  As stated on their website, “While our packaging may not be designed to color-coordinate with your bathroom, you can always be sure that we use ingredients that we know will work.” They don’t claim to be beautiful, pampering or luxurious, but when it comes to skincare, I want to make sure I’m using the best out there, not just instagram-worthy product, so I was excited to try it.

Dermalogica sent me their “Meet Dermalogica Kit” – a collection of their favorite, and most popular products. I find this is the perfect way to test out a new skincare line, and it also makes for the perfect travel products. I’m always a little nervous to try out a new skincare line, so I like testing out the travel size for a few weeks before committing to the product. I also really like the Meet Dermalogica kit because it has everything from the cleansing gel, daily microfoliant, skin cream, and eye firming cream. I also tested out the phyto replenish oil!

Today I’m sharing my must-have beauty travel products, from Dermalogica, to even the brand of body lotion and dry shampoo I use. Hope you enjoy today’s posts, and you can shop the products in the links below! xo

I absolutely LOVE PurseN products – they are my go-to for travel organizers. I can neatly store my beauty and make-up products, even my jewelry! It makes traveling so convenient. These two are my current favs.
