I have something to admit. I have puppy fever. I know a handful of 20-somethings who have baby fever, husband/boyfriend fever, etc. but I have puppy fever. My dreams came true this weekend when my friend invited me to the Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade – basically heaven on Earth. Crowds of puppies, especially bulldogs (my favorites), dressed up as other animals, politicians and Disney characters for this yearly event. I have never been to something like it before and it was so much fun. I was the creepy girl walking around with her camera, no dog, and trying to pet/steal every dog that would acknowledge me. I eventually had the willpower to leave for a few minutes and snap some outfits pictures but don’t worry, I also included some of my favorite puppy pics at the end of the post.
Last winter I thrifted this men’s button-down shirt. I thought I would only wear it around my waist or tied up but I was recently playing around with it and thought it was the perfect shirtdress! It’s long enough to wear with tights or you can wear it over skinny jeans like I did today. Now that the weather is cooling down and it’s easy to layer items, I suggest buying some looser tops, such as a shirtdress so you can layer it over shirts, under sweaters and make the most of your piece for the season.
