Learning to Layer

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m learning to layer. I almost left my apartment in this outfit without tights – one of my roommates looked at me and I could tell she thought I was crazy. It’s a slow learning process, I will admit, but I’ll share what I’ve learned thus far. First, invest in basic under layers. It’s easy to layer a black turtleneck or long-sleeve under any outfit, and tights are always a must. I thought I could manage an almost full bare leg but I was completely wrong. I like starting with my basic under layer, second is my statement shirt or dress and then top it off with a blazer, or sweater that I can take on or off in the office depending on the temperature.  This 3-step formula has made my morning routine almost seamless and I don’t worry that I’ll be cold or unprepared. And now with all this layer talk, all I’m thinking about is layers on a cake.. can it be dessert time already? I hope you enjoy today’s outfit! xx
