Fashion Fundamentals Autumn 2020 Collection

I am so proud to announce that the Fashion Fundamentals Autumn 2020 collection has officially launched! At the beginning of 2020 the idea of Fashion Fundamentals merchandise never crossed my mind, but in July, in the midst of COVID, the discussion of merchandise came up in a team meeting and we instantly started brainstorming product and designs.

When thinking of our first collection we knew that we wanted to use ourselves/small businesses to design/produce, up-cycle materials from past projects to make product, be as size inclusive as possible (shirts are sizes: Small – 3XL), and be as sustainable as possible!

After weeks of brainstorming we finally got our product line down: band t-shirt, tie-dye t-shirt, tote, bandanas, scrunchies, masks, sunglass/mask chains, and beaded bracelets. We put so much thought, time, and love into each of these items and we cannot wait to see you style them in your own way!

We worked with my friend/graphic designer Austin Griblin to design the band tee and tote (he also designs our digital magazines!), and we used a moderate sized screen printing company in Arizona, State Forty Eight.

All tie-dye: shirts, masks, and bandanas were hand dyed by UNDONE By Kate. Kate and I worked together closely to perfect the coloring and tie-dye method. It took us over two weeks to get everything just right, and I absolutely love the shirts!

Masks and bandanas were originally sheets that Kate dyed back in May, and were used for my Summer 2020 Edit. Last month, I brought the mask/bandana material back to Arizona for my mom to make. We put a lot of thought into these masks. First, the elastic strap is a sand color, so when makeup rubs off, it doesn’t get gross looking. Second, the strap is adjustable to fit any face size, and we did this with gold/red beads; this also allows our chains to be worn with the masks. Third, there is an opening for a filter!

Along with masks and bandanas my mom and I worked on creating scrunchies. Early on I decided that I wanted large over-sized scrunchies to be in our collection. We created our scrunchies from up-cycled tulle and chiffon that I used during my summer edit shoot.

Lastly, Lauren and I created our sunglass/mask chains and beaded bracelets in office. When creating our chains and bracelets we kept every customer in mind; we wanted a chain and bracelet for the minimalist, maximalist and anyone in-between. Also, it was so important to us that when creating the chains and bracelets that they can be mixed/matched and styled together.
