Wear It Wednesday: 5 Ways to Style a Graphic Tee

I’ve been blogging almost five years at this point, and my style has changed, evolved and refined several times throughout the past few years. I never knew what kind of personal style category I fit into – it was all over the place at times, but over the past couple of years I have realized my “Audree Style Staples” and those are: Graphic tees, (tons of) accessories and layering. I’m a maximalist to it’s truest form, and as odd as it might sound, I feel the sexiest in a graphic tee.

Over the past two years my weight has fluctuated significantly and that has been a battle in itself, but I think my graphic tee obsession started when I was at my heaviest weight. I was uncomfortable with my body and hated wearing tight clothing, so I gravitated towards layers and loose pieces; I always felt so comfortable in them and started styling them into my wardrobe more and more often. I stole two Harley Davidson shirts from my dad’s closet (see Office and Party looks below) and if you’ve been following my blog for awhile now, you have definitely seen these shirts. My sister made a comment that I needed to expand my graphic tee collection because she was sick of seeing the same biker tee, which I agreed with haha, so I started thrifting more of them. I now own a large variety of biker, band, and unique vintage tees!

Today’s WIW theme is one that I have been SO excited to share with you because I feel like these outfits are Simply Audree Kate to a ‘T’ and I hope you feel inspired to start incorporating a graphic tee into your weekly wardrobe! xo

 1. The Office Tee

I am lucky that I’m able to pretty much wear whatever I want for work. I know this might not be acceptable for every office dresscode, but if you work in a relaxed or creative environment, pair your graphic tee with a structured pencil skirt (I chose a leather one for an extra punch) and then topped off the look with heels, a belt and oversized clutch.

 2. The Casual Weekend Tee

Most people think graphic tees are only for Saturday brunch, which I’m totally okay with, but you can also dress up your look a little with fun accessories  and a funky up-do. I also stretched this neckline to be off-the-shoulder!

 3. The Date-Night Tee

Who says you can’t wear a graphic tee to date night? My brother-in-law actually gave me this Jack Daniels tee and I think it’s the perfect shirt for date night. Pair the tee with a flirty skirt and heels – I think your man will also approve of the Whiskey tee!

4. The Girls-Night-Out Tee

Did someone call for hot pants for girl’s night out? I tied up my Red Hot Chili Peppers tee and paired them with a red trouser, layered chokers and necklaces and a sassy pony. I feel like this look screams Carrie Bradshaw sipping cosmos with the girls.

Going out with friends or attending a work party? Pair your tee with cropped flares, a sassy heel and statement earring. This look is perfect for Casual Friday turned Happy Hour!
