The Triple Threat of Print Mixing

My personal style has changed over the years, but there are three style rules that I live by, and always stand the test of time:

#1: More is More. In my personal opinion, minimalism is dead (well at least in 2018) and my maximalist heart is singing because designers and brands are once again embracing funky prints, layers and stacked accessories.

#2: Accessories are Key. I’m guilty of wearing too many pieces of jewelry at once and you’ll never catch me without a pair of sunnies or statement bag. Accessories can pull a look together within seconds, or be the starting point when styling. I believe the difference between a regular “outfit”, and styled “look” are the accessories. They can be powerful, and a vital ingredient to my SAK look.

#3: The Power of Prints. I’ve never been a super matchy-matchy person so when color blocking and print mixing resurfaced in popularity again a few years back, I was beyond excited. I think my favorite looks have been unintentional, mixed and effort.

I threw this look together in a few minutes, and it’s one of my favorite print mixes to date. I paired my new Topshop Stripe Linen Mini Dress with a camo tee, snakeskin booties and stacks of gold jewelry. I fit the skirt with a vintage cowboy belt and tossed on some cat eye sunnies before running out the door with a messy bun. Even though all of these pieces can live separately, together they create a cool, street style-like look.

The past few weeks I have stocked up my closet with dresses from Topshop (See my other  looks HERE and HERE) and they have been the perfect styling pieces for the end of summer and transitioning into fall. They are affordable, super comfortable and easy to style. You can shop this striped dress (HERE) plus my other favorite summer Topshop dresses online now, and receive exclusive Topshop coupons (HERE)! Happy Shopping! xo
