How to Not Get Stir-Crazy While Working From Home

WFH has been going on for a few days now, and the stir-crazy is about to set in. Events are canceled, binge-watching Netflix is already getting old, and apartments/homes feel smaller than ever. It’s hard not to go stir-crazy after just a few days in the side. Here are some tips to combat the WFH scaries.

Workout at Home

It’s easy to get into a workout rut during this time; literally, all gyms are closed. That’s no excuse. It’s time to start an at-home workout routine. Working out at home helps space feel bigger. Yoga, barre, and strength training workout classes are so easy to do at home, and they will help WFH seem less challenging.

Stick to a Normal Schedule

It starts to feel stir crazy when all you do is wakeup, work, eat, and then go to bed. That’s why it’s essential to stick to a typical daily schedule. Making the bed, making staple meals, and working out are great ways to keep a regular schedule.

Go on a Walk

At this time, it is harder than ever to want to go outside. However, sometimes it’s essential for your well-being. Sometimes a brief change of scenery is needed to calm the stir crazy. Take ten minutes to walk around your street and make sure to practice social distancing as much as possible.

Take On a New Hobby

Working from home is the perfect time to take on a new hobby. A new hobby doesn’t have to be super time consuming or expensive, but maybe pick up reading again, try drawing, crafting, crosswords or even a puzzle. Adding something fun to your daily routine will help break up the monotony.

Talk to Your Friends/Family As Often As Possible

During WFH, it’s easy to become isolated. We tend to stay in our rooms, get as much work done as possible, and forget to call friends and family. Talking to friends and family is an easy way to curve the stir craze. This allows for a social life while not leaving home. We personally love setting up “happy hour” with our friends over Facetime and calling our families often.
